Editorial policy
Bright News Journal aims to make nature writing clear, careful and proportionate. We separate what can be observed from what is inferred, and take responsibility for correcting errors.
Accuracy and context
We check factual statements against suitable sources before publication and explain important limits or uncertainty. A single observation is not treated as proof of a broad pattern. Where a story depends on a particular place, season or set of conditions, we say so rather than presenting it as universal.
Independence
Editorial choices are made for their relevance to readers, not as a condition of a commercial arrangement. Contributors and partners do not receive editorial control over unrelated coverage. We do not imply first-hand observation, testing or research unless the published material actually supports that claim.
Corrections
Readers can send a correction through the Contact page. We review specific, actionable reports, check the material and update a story when a correction is warranted. Significant changes are identified in the article so readers can understand what changed.
Partnerships and illustrations
Paid or partner material is clearly labelled where it appears and kept distinct from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; when an illustration is AI-generated, we label it as such. Illustrations are not presented as documentary evidence of a particular plant, animal or event.
